We are recruiting for the position below:
Job Title: Dispatch Manager
Location: Apapa, Lagos
Purpose
- To oversee and manage dispatch operations, ensuring the timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
The Job - Supervise and coordinate daily dispatch operations to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of goods.
- Monitor vehicle movements and optimize route planning to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Lead, coach, and evaluate dispatch personnel to drive productivity and performance.
- Collaborate with Warehouse, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless dispatch activities.
- Analyze dispatch performance data and prepare reports to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Resolve delivery issues, operational delays, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, vehicle logs, fuel consumption records, and operational documentation.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives to improve fleet utilization and reduce transportation costs.
- Oversee fleet maintenance and utilization to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.
The Person Must - Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills.
- Possess excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Have strong analytical skills with the ability to optimize routes and control operational costs.
- Be proficient in logistics, fleet, and dispatch management systems with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Qualification - HND / bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Dispatch, Logistics, or Transportation Management.
- Experience within the FMCG, Manufacturing, or Transport industry will be an added advantage.
