We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Resident Electrical Technician

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
Electrical Installation:

  • Install electrical wiring, conduits, trunking, cable trays, switchgear, distribution boards, sockets, switches, and lighting systems.
  • Install electrical equipment including motors, pumps, generators, UPS systems, inverters, transformers, and control panels.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Support electrical installations for renovation, refurbishment, and new construction projects.
    Preventive Maintenance:
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Inspect electrical panels, breakers, transformers, lighting circuits, power distribution systems, and generators.
  • Test electrical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance records and inspection checklists.
    Corrective Maintenance:
  • Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective cables, switches, sockets, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Restore electrical services promptly while minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Respond to emergency electrical breakdowns within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    Generator & Power Systems:
  • Monitor the operation of generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), UPS systems, and inverters.
  • Perform routine servicing and basic troubleshooting of power systems.
  • Ensure seamless changeover between utility power and backup systems.
  • Monitor fuel levels and report operational issues requiring attention.
    Facility Operations:
  • Conduct daily inspections of electrical installations within assigned facilities.
  • Monitor electrical load distribution and identify potential overload conditions.
  • Report ageing infrastructure or equipment requiring replacement or upgrade.
  • Support energy conservation initiatives and recommend efficiency improvements.
    Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
  • Comply with company and client HSE policies and procedures.
  • Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures where applicable.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
    Requirements
  • Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications and at least 4 years experience.
