We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

 Job Title: Extrusion & Packing Process Operator

Location: Kano
Employment Type: Full-Time

General objective

• To operate, monitor, and maintain the grain extrusion process to ensure the consistent production of high-quality extruded products that meet production targets, food safety requirements, and quality standards while minimizing downtime and material wastage.
  Responsibilities and Tasks
  Dryer, Cooler & Grinder Operations:
• Prepare and verify raw materials before production.
• Adjust dryer temperatures, airflow, and moisture targets.
• Ensure cooler efficiency and correct product temperatures.
• Operate grinders/screens and maintain required particle sizes.
• Prevent bottlenecks and ensure smooth downstream flow
• Operate the grain extrusion line according to approved operating procedures
• Coordinate with the Extrusion Controller on upstream changes.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  Compliance with Quality Standards:
• Ensure the extruded product meets the required quality specifications.
• Perform moisture, density, temperature, and particle size checks.
• Carry out visual inspections throughout the process.
• Follow ISO and HACCP guidelines in your section.
• Escalate quality deviations quickly.
  Safety & Housekeeping:
• Keep your area clean, organised, and dust-free.
• Always use PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Report mechanical or electrical issues immediately.
• Apply safe start-up, shutdown, and lock-out practices.
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  Communication & Teamwork:
• Provide clear handovers for the next shift
• Inform the Extrusion Controller about deviations.
• Support packing staff to maintain smooth operations.
  Requirements
• Language skills – English.
• Education degree – Minimum of OND in
• Mechanical/Industrial/Food Processing technology, or equivalent technical qualification
• Work experience – 1 – 2 years’ experience operating food processing or extrusion equipment. Technical or vocational training in machine operation is an added advantage.
• Computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel & Outlook
  Other required skills:
• Operate the grain extrusion line according to approved operating procedures.
• HMI operating system experience
• Ability to adjust process settings to control product outcomes.
• Monitor critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, moisture, feed rate, screw speed, and product density.
• Troubleshooting of downstream issues.
