Job description

  • SPIE Global Services Energy is looking for Instrument Tubing Fitter to join its workforce on BONGA Offshore Project in Lagos Nigeria.
  • Interpret and work from P&IDs, tubing hook-up drawings, instrument installation drawings, isometric drawings, layouts, and  construction specifications.
  • Install, route, support, and terminate instrument tubing for pressure, temperature, level, flow, control and other instrumentation systems.
  • Carry out installation of stainless steel, copper, carbon steel and other specified tubing materials in accordance with project specifications.
  • Fabricate tubing runs by accurately measuring, cutting, bending, forming and assembling tubing to suit approved drawings and site conditions.
  • Install and connect tube fittings, compression fittings, ferrule fittings, bulkhead fittings, manifolds, valves, needle valves, check valves and associated accessories.
  • Perform tubing installation between instruments, impulse lines, manifolds, process connection points, control valves and junction/interface points.
  • Ensure correct tubing routing, including proper slope, accessibility, clearance, supports, separation and protection against mechanical damage.
  • Install tubing supports, clamps, brackets and mounting accessories in accordance with approved drawings and engineering requirements.
  • Ensure tubing is correctly identified using tag numbers, line numbers, service identification and instrument references.
  • Carry out tubing installation for instrument air, process impulse, pneumatic control, hydraulic and other utility services as specified in the project scope.
  • Conduct tubing preparation activities including deburring, cleaning, flushing and protection of tube ends before connection.
  • Ensure all tubing connections are properly assembled and tightened using the correct tools, torque requirements and manufacturer’s installation procedures.
  • Carry out leak testing, pressure testing, pneumatic testing and/or hydrostatic testing of tubing systems as required by approved procedures.
  • Identify and rectify tubing installation defects such as leaks, incorrect routing, damaged tubing, loose fittings, improper bending or inadequate supports.
  • Coordinate with Instrument Fitters, Instrument Technicians, Pipe Fitters, Welders, Electrical Technicians and other construction disciplines to resolve interface issues.
  • Verify installed tubing against approved drawings, material specifications, instrument hook-up drawings and project standards before inspection.
  • Assist QA/QC.
    QHSE:

  • Ensures compliance with Operating Procedures &
  • Guidelines with the asset to ensure Process Safety,
  • Operational Safety and Plan Integrity
  • Management System, including permit-to-work (PTW) procedures, SIMOPS, tool box talks, and job
  • hazard analyses (JHA). He/she shall immediately address and report any unsafe acts or conditions in the work area.
    Profile
  • Education: Minimum of an HND or B.Sc Degree in
  • Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics
  • Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • Equivalent vocational training with relevant field experience will be considered
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 – 10 years of hands-on experience in electrical construction on oil and gas
  • EPC projects, with at least 4–5 years in a supervisory role specifically covering cable tray installation and cable routing.
  • Experience on offshore platforms, FPSOs, or
  • Deepwater projects is a strong advantage.
