Job Summary
- We are currently looking to engage a highly competent and result-oriented Coordinator, Cleaning Services with strong personal & professional integrity to join our dynamic team in the Maintenance Department.
- The Coordinator, Cleaning Services is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the delivery of cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping services across the organisation’s facilities.
- He / she will ensure that offices, classrooms, common areas, restrooms, residential facilities, and other designated spaces are maintained to high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and appearance.
Responsibilities - Coordinate and supervise daily cleaning operations across all assigned facilities, ensuring adequate staffing coverage and that all designated areas are attended to according to approved standards and schedules.
- Develop, implement, and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic cleaning schedules, ensuring that routine and specialized cleaning activities are completed efficiently and on time.
- Allocate and deploy cleaning personnel to specific locations and duties based on operational priorities, workload demands, and facility requirements to maximize productivity and service delivery.
- Conduct regular inspections of classrooms, offices, meeting rooms, corridors, stairways, restrooms, and common areas to ensure compliance with required cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards.
- Coordinate deep-cleaning activities for facilities and specialized areas, including windows, carpets, upholstery, floors, high-level surfaces, and other areas requiring periodic intensive cleaning.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, appearance, conduct, and productivity, while providing daily briefings, communicating work priorities, and ensuring employees clearly understand their assigned responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with approved cleaning procedures, quality standards, and work schedules, conducting routine quality checks and maintaining accurate inspection records and checklists.
- Identify cleaning deficiencies, service gaps, and performance concerns, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly and escalating recurring disciplinary or performance issues to management when necessary.
- Monitor the proper use, storage, handling, and labeling of cleaning chemicals and materials, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Inspect cleaning equipment regularly and report damaged, defective, or unsafe equipment for timely repair or replacement to maintain uninterrupted service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Support workplace health, safety, and environmental initiatives by promptly reporting hazards, spills, accidents, injuries, and incidents, while promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible cleaning practices.
- Coordinate cleaning and venue preparation for conferences, meetings, examinations, ceremonies, and other events, ensuring facilities are properly cleaned before and after use and that waste is segregated and disposed of in accordance with organizational procedures.
Educational and Professional Qualification(s) Required for the Role - Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Hospitality Management, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in Cleaning Services, Health Safety & Environment, or a related field is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in cleaning services, hospitality, and environmental services, or a similar operational environment.
