 Job Title: Laboratory Assistant / Technologist (Physics / Biology)

Description

• We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant/Technologist with a background in Physics or Biology to support practical lessons, laboratory experiments, a light teaching load and the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• The successful candidate will assist teachers and students in ensuring effective laboratory operations and safe scientific practices.
  Key Responsibilities
• Prepare laboratories for Physics practical lessons and experiments.
• Set up, test, and dismantle laboratory apparatus and equipment before and after practical sessions.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure all tools are in good working condition.
• Assist teachers during practical classes, demonstrations, and examinations.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety rules and regulations.
• Keep accurate records of laboratory materials, equipment usage, and inventory.
• Report damaged or faulty equipment promptly.
• Support procurement and storage of laboratory materials and consumables.
• Ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and proper organisation of the laboratory.
• Assist in conducting internal and external practical examinations.
  Requirements
• NCE or ND in Physics, Science Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
• A Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and scientific equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers and students.
• Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications is an added advantage.
• Prior experience in a school or laboratory environment will be an advantage.
