Job Title: Fleet Tracking Officer

Location: Sango Ota, Ogun
Job Summary

  • The Fleet Tracking Officeris responsible for monitoring the real-time movement of trucks transporting company products from warehouses to customers and depots.
  • The role ensures complete visibility of vehicles in transit, proactively identifies delays, route deviations, security risks, and operational issues, and coordinates timely interventions to ensure safe and on-time deliveries.
    Key Responsibilities
    Real-Time Monitoring:
  • Monitor all trucks in transit using GPS tracking systems/fleet management platforms.
  • Track truck locations, movement, speed, and estimated time of arrival (ETA).
  • Monitor truck seals and delivery milestones where applicable.
  • Ensureevery dispatched truckremainsvisible until delivery is completed.
    Transit Coordination:
  • Maintain continuous communication with drivers and transport providers.
  • Update warehouses, customer service, and sales teams on delivery progress.
  • Escalate delays, breakdowns, accidents, security threats, or unauthorized stops.
  • Support route optimization and recovery plans whererequired.
    Incident Management:
  • Immediately report truck diversion, hijacking, theft, accidents, or prolonged delays.
  • Maintain incident logs and follow up until issues are resolved.
  • Coordinate with Security, Truckproviders, Logistics operations team and Sales Business Manager of the region during emergencies.
    Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to approved routes and journey management procedures.
  • Monitortransportercompliance with company transportation standards.
  • Coordinate pre-trip inspection for every truck before assigning shipment
  • Ensure GIT insurance for all transporters arevalidand value per carriage meets theminimumstandard.
  • Verify adherence to safety and security protocols.
    Reporting:
  • Produce daily truck movement and delivery status reports.
  • Document route deviations, detention time, and delivery exceptions.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords of communications and transit activities.
  • Daily pan-Nigeria depot operations report
  • Daily Key Performance Indicator Report (KPI)
    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Truck visibility rate.
  • On-Time& In-Full(OTIF).
  • ETA accuracy.
  • Incident response time.
  • Route deviation resolution time.
  • Delivery status update timelinesspersales area.
  • Daily reporting accuracy.
  • Rate of GIT compliance per/transporter.
    Qualifications
  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience inlogistics, fleet monitoring, or transportation operations.
    Skills:
  • Knowledge of GPS and fleet management systems.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Strong analytical (excel) and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask.
