Job Title: Group Head of Accounts
Location: Magodo, Lagos

Job Summary
- The Group Head of Accounts will provide strategic financial leadership across all subsidiaries, ensuring robust financial planning, reporting, and compliance.
- The role is responsible for driving financial performance through effective budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and the development of sound accounting policies aligned with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and oversee accounting functions across all subsidiaries
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support business growth
- Present recommendations on short- and long-term financial objectives
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with FIRS and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate accounting records across all entities
- Review accounting ledgers for accuracy and completeness
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis:
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Provide financial analysis for decision-making
- Support capital investment decisions, pricing, and contract negotiations
- Monitor performance and provide variance analysis
Taxation & Regulatory Management:
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings (CIT, VAT, and other statutory obligations)
- Maintain compliance with tax laws and financial regulations
- Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Oversee cash flow planning and liquidity management
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions
- Optimise working capital across the Group
Audit & Internal Controls:
- Lead annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditors
- Establish and enforce internal control systems
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with auditors, regulators, vendors, and financial partners.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support business operations.
Team Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations of the accounting department
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance teams across subsidiaries
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies, principles, and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 12–15 years’ relevant experience
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- ICAN or ACCA certification (mandatory)
- MBA or Master’s Degree (added advantage)
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or agribusiness sector
- Strong experience managing group or multi-entity accounting structures
